What is Clenbuterol?
Clenbuterol, called "clen" for short, is a drug used for asthma sufferers, but it has gained popularity as a fat burner for bodybuilders. The height of clenbuterol popularity was probably when it was found that Frank Zane was using it as part of his fat loss stack, and it has been on a steady popularity climb since then.
Clenbuterol is used to burn fat because it increases total metabolic activity by stimulating the Beta-2 receptors which causes the body to use stored fat. This will result in higher body temperature, which increases metabolic rate. It also will definitely cause a loss of appetite which might be just as important for those who cannot control their eating.
Once clen is in your system users may experience jitters and it can definitely cause insomnia so a person must be very careful to take a dosage they feel comfortable with and may want to avoid taking it late in the day. Since clen has a long half life, make sure not to take it after 6pm.
Another side effect that I have personally experienced was heart burn, once I stopped taking clen – it went away. Users may choose to take taurine with clenbuterol to help out with cramps as clen will deplete L-taurine, it is also crucial to drink a lot of water while using.
The interesting thing with clenbuterol is that side effects are variable from one individual to the next. While some individuals get “jittery” side effects, others feel no side effects at all. It's basically a toss up on what your CNS (central nerveous system) can handle. In general, 90% of users won't notice a lot of side effects, and should handle it fairly well.
Dosages for those looking to burn fat will vary. It can be as low as 20mcg per day up to 120mcg per day, many users like to start low and bump it up every few days by 10mcg until they start noticing side effects then keep it at that dose. In my experience, 80mcg per day will cause jitters and going over 100mcg a day will cause heart burn. Typically a 2 week on and 2 week off regime is the most popular and safe way to run it. It was rumored that professional bodybuilders took a high dose of clenbuterol and that combined with diuretics, plus abuse of sauna's resulted in serious side effects. Therefore, I don't suggest using clenbuterol with diuretics.
Studies have shown that clenbuterol is anabolic, this has only been found in animal studies. In human studies, there is evidence that this is true, but the user were taking high dosages.
Since clenbuterol has a half life of 30 hours it is wise to never start taking it at a high dosage, because if the side effects become too great it will be a long wait for it to clear the body. Start with a lower dosage and cycle your way up. 1 tablet a day is a safe bet to start and move up from there.
Since clen is not a hormone it poses the same risk and rewards to females as it does with men. Females will run it the same way but at a lower dose. Usually starting at 10 to 20 mcg's per day and ramping up to 100mcg a day at the most.
The FDA has not approved clen use in the US, but it is still widely available on the black market or from overseas. Though, clenbuterol is sold in Europe and Asia to this day for asthma patients. I suggest trying the clenbuterall from GS Labs.
